Amanda Sandos' Bio
Hi! I’m Amanda C. Sandos, former zookeeper, animal behaviorist, conservationist, and all-around animal enthusiast. The girl who founded Animanity in Art to explore “the state of being animal.” This is my way of raising money and awareness for environmental conservation by making and selling art. I love nothing more than sharing my animal friends and our stories with you to explore the concepts of animal sentience and the human/ animal experience together.
Animanity brings together the healing power of art and animals to help us understand ourselves better and our connections to all other living beings. I’m hoping to help us understand those connections better, so we can make healthier choices for ourselves and the planet.A portion of the proceeds from every work I sell goes back to conservation in the wild. To date, I have raised money for organizations like The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to feed orphaned elephants, The Jane Goodall Foundation to teach worldwide conservation, The Oceanic Society to help clean up our oceans, and many more.
I also design jewelry and malas and teach yoga and meditation, as well as working as a private animal care consultant. I love exploring the world and meeting new animal friends along the way. I have been all over Europe, most of the US and all her provinces, the Caribbean, large areas of Central America, and Canada. My latest adventure to New Zealand, where I was commissioned to make multiple garden bird installations, was the catalyst for me to officially launch this new Animanity in Art business and truly focus my career fully on the arts. I will soon be moving to New Zealand permanently. Stay tuned for more adventures and more new animal friends. You can find out the latest news over at Animanity.com
